The new Audi A5 further expands the German car manufacturers presence in the country. Available in a Sportback body style, it is based on the same platform as the A4. To keep the price in check, Audi continues to offer most of the electronics from the A4. There is also the powerful and loud S5 Sportback iteration on offer for performance enthusiasts in the country. On the design aspect, the A5 gets a single frame grille, which is flatter and wider than its predecessor. Moreover, the vehicle also gets a stretched wheelbase, short overhangs and a wraparound domed hood. In terms of dimensions, the new A5 is longer by 17mm and gets a wheelbase of 2,824mm. The driver and passenger shoulder room is up by 11mm, while the rear knee room has been increased by 24mm. The A5 is limited to a 2.0-litre TDI Ultra engine which generates 190bhp of power at 3800-4200pm and 400Nm of torque at 1750-3000rpm. The engine comes mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission. The Audi S5 Sportsback on the other hand gets a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine that generates 351bhp of power at 5,500rpm and 500Nm of torque at 2,900rpm. The powerful engine comes mated to eight-speed automatic transmission and Audis signature quattro AWD technology. As for the interior, the new A5 gets the redesigned centre console and a dashboard that gives it a modern look. The dashboard now looks futuristic thanks to all the horizontal surfacing, elegant wood finish and matt chrome bits. The car is loaded with features including Audis brilliant virtual cockpit, MMI system with a touchpad, three zone climate control, wireless charging, powered front seats, electronic parking brake, reversing camera with front and rear parking sensors, ABS, ESP and eight airbags. To distinguish the S5 from the A5, it gets 18-inch wheels, ORVMs with aluminium covers, and twin tail pipes.
